cee4 Jul 18, 2007 02:48 PM

I feed my bluetongue chicken and my tegu but Ive never heard of beardies getting chicken.
My mom just befriended someone in canada that feeds her beardie chicken.Im not sure if its chicken only or not but its jaw sure didnt look quite right..
Is there a good website I can give my mom to help this lady out with good beardie care?

No animal protien is a good idea for most reptiles. Here is a good link on nutrition.

Beautifuldragons.com has a lot of other information on health and care of dragons.

chicken (or other poultry, large animal meats, etc) is not a good food to give to bearded dragons. Bearded dragons should be getting insects and greens/vegetables, nothing else.

BDLvr already listed a great website with a list showing what greens/vegetables a bearded dragon should eat and how often so I won't post it again.

chicken baby food can be fed to bearded dragons in only one situation...as a base for force feeding a sickly dragon. But this should be only temporary till the dragon can eat solid food again. There are better ways to make a force feed slurry than using baby food. Ground up silkworms would be better to include...though rather disgusting to see.
