Can anyone let me know why ants would attack and eat at the growth ring to the raw flesh between my radiated tort's scutes? Is this an indication of something wrong with the tort? His water input/output is normal, food input/output normal, but looks weary and spends too much time in his den next to his pal who does not seem to be having a problem. He's probably around 12 inches cpl, well rounded with very minor pyramiding, was given to me 18 months ago but has recently been moved to an earthen floor enclosure in our greenhouse. The heat for the last two weeks has been in the 90's during the day and 80's at night but humid to 75%. I just dropped those temps by adding ventilation that allows the breezes through. In addition, one of my sulcata's came down with a terrible rns case. Both live in separated enclosures in the same greenhouse but have been removed to different dehumidified rooms in our house. PS. I'm new to the forum and live in Taiwan.
