how are those Pales coming along this year? That female I had was awesome -- she's truly missed. Since then my shoeboxes have changed. Hope all is well.

Jeff sent me the animal and it did well from the day I got it. Never had N.A. milks, always the others (hondurans, campbelli, annulata, polyzona, etc...) but I couldn't resist these Pales. Besides, I needed a change up after so many years with the same things. Not more than a couple months later this beauty wedged her head in-between where the lid comes into contact with the box. Poor thing hung there overnight and when I found her in the morning, I was beyond upset. I will definitely get more from Jeff, but am presently working on another project that is requiring a bit more attention. But it was an INCREDIBLE snake indeed.

20 lashes with a rabid coachwhip for not recognizing a syspila.
I managed to hatch a few exemplary pales this year Jer - they might be ready by Nov.

Well I'm no expert, that's obvious! LOL! Doh! I'm a little torn on that one. I've seen some Rifle Range Taylori that have similar colored bands, but the head to me looks more like a Multistrata. The head is also very similar to the pair of Gentilis that I have from Jeff Hardwick, Lincoln Co. So I'm going to take an uneducated guess and say nice Gentilis? Some of the Coastals from the Northern part of their range look very similar to Syspila to me. I have 1.2 St. Mary's Co. Maryland "Temporalis" that look a lot like Syspila. Is there some distinguishing feature between the two that I'm missing? The funny thing is, I had just sent Jeff an e-mail saying that In the near future I might be in the market for a pair of Syspila. Oh well.

I'd say it's a Multistrata!
