When I looked it up there wasn't any good info. I have heard it is harmless to humans and I have heard it is similar to timber rattler venom. I bought one anyway last year to try it out. They are very fast and smart. Like a poor mans indigo. I have yet to get bit, but with the feeding responce mines has, I will be bit in the near future lol I'll let you know how it turns out...hopefully!

hey
i got bitten a few times the only thing it happen to me is my hand burnt for awhile nothing major , didnt hurt that much almost the same thing as the hog nose...
...the bite may be potentially more harmful than many other rear fanged snakes. The venom is similar to some rattlesnakes. The fangs are large and well developed, as far as rear fanged animals go. They are supposed to have fairly large venom glands. I'll post a study on the venom. As I recall one individual was hospitalized with arrhythmia's. That being said everyone I've talked to and all the posts I've read said it feels like a bee sting/burning pain and you bleed for a while. This girl never has offered to bite and is pretty calm once out of her tank. I'll also mention this is the most intimidating animal I've ever owned. She hoods frequently and like many of my kingsnakes she leaps out of the tank looking to be fed. I don't want to get nailed but it may be inevitable. Awesome snake.

My reply below was supposed to be directed to you.

I can't get it to post on here. If you'd like I could email it to you. It's a study on 12 different rear fanged snakes. Pretty interesting stuff.
I would like it, if you wouldn't mind.

The FWC's supposedly have the venom of a rattlesnake but they do not have fangs made to inject poison like front fang snakes. That is the difference from what I have read. Intelligent, smart, intimidating, and aggressive they are. Hogs will swell your hands in a heart beat compared to FWC's which sting and burn when they bite. There has been no effects from the bites I received from mine.
My hands have swollen from the bites of my Westerns and Tricolor Hogs.
