This is not uncommon when 1.) the snake is stressed, and not hungry or 2.) when the meal is too big for the snake.

Is this the one that has been off feed for a while?

Sometimes when they've not been eating they will go a couple of feedings like they have a hard time deciding if they are really hungry - they'll constrict it, mull it over and then go back to their hide.

no this is actually another one. the one that has not eaten for months ate his second meal yesterday. thank god!
