F/T vs Prekilled

DragonsLair Jul 19, 2007 09:36 PM

I've always fed pre-killed mice or rats to my monitors.I hear alot about F/T mice and rats. Is there an advantage to F/T over pre-killed other than being able to stock up on food items for your animals.I would like to hear the pros and cons (if any).
Thanks,Chris

It doesn't make a difference. I feed pre killed, frozen-thawed, and live mice and young rats to my monitors all the time. I just give them whatever I have on hand at the moment. The only difference is the monitors response to the live ones vs. the dead ones.

I nutrition wise, no difference, unless you feed them rotten old f/t.

Behavior wise, theres a huge difference. Monitors feeding on non live prey are boring. hahahahahahaha Yea, thats right, boring. They eat like a bunch of wimps. I did not get monitors to see them behavior civilized.

Actually, Live prey and dead prey is normal to them and using both allows a wide range of behaviors. Cheers
