power feeding?

is it ok? what is a healthy feeding schedule for a new baby ball python?

Feeding her every 5-7 days is a good feeding schedule. I wouldn't do any more than that. I feed my snakes every 5-7 days and they gain weight just they way they should.

I agree. Babies I do every 4 days then about 4 months I go to every 5 days, depends on the meal size. If they will take a med mouse I will go every 6 days. Power feeding is not healthy for them, You do not want a fat snake, A nice healthy strong snake is much better. They grow very quickly.

No it's not, you want a healthy BP that grow at his own pace.

I feed all my BP (regardless of age) an appropriated size prey once a week.

There is a big debate on weather power feeding is ok or not , I say no !! I think a normal healthy and appropriate size meal on a consistent schedule is best . For a hatchling I would say one Hopper mouse every 4-7 days depending on the digestion rate witch depends on the temps were it spends most of its time . Thanks David of DS Reptile Rescue
