cool old hondo pic

RandyWhittington Jul 20, 2007 12:42 PM

This picture is two or three years old. These are hypos and hets from a 16 egg clutch. The het runt crawling in the front, to the right is a twin from one of the 16 eggs. You can see how much smaller it is than the hypos from the same clutch. I actually had 17 hatch out of the clutch but the other twin piped and died as soon as it crawled out of the egg.
I had a two headed het hatch out from another clutch the same year but one of the heads were dead when it piped. I have a picture of it somewhere in my computer but havn't been able to find it. Later, Randy W.

I didn't know one that big was even possible! And to get twins that makes some kindof record .. too bad they all didn't live.

Very slick hypo on the left and what looks like an extreme in the middle, nice work! I find it strange how you can get extremes and normals in the same clutch. I always thought of them as a sort of refined hypo that comes from hypo to hypo pairings. To get one like that from a het-hypo? I guess thats why we don't know too much about them just yet.

Thanks. There has been a hondo clutch of 18 or 19 I think but 16 is very large for hondos.
The light one in the pic is not actually not an extreme but just a very light regular.
Here is a extreme female. Randy

Hi Randy,

I jumped on this new pic because I thought you found that two headed Honduran pic. Please post it if you find it.

See you in 4 weeks!

Thanks!
