How do females act after having a clutch

TNT06 Jul 21, 2007 10:04 PM

I am just wondering, how does a beardie act right after having a clutch? Mine is sluggish still. And her color really has not came back yet. She is eating, and i am giving her water and calcuim and vit. Even extra calcuim. Do you think she is depressed? I have given her baths also, and i hold her a lot. She is 1 1/2 years old. thanks

Every dragon is different and acts differently. Vickie Dachiu told me once that the first year the dragons really don't understand what their bodies are telling them to do sometimes. I believe that.

Hydration is the most important thing. Generally right after a clutch they are usually VERY dehydrated and therefore lethargic. I give them water from an eyedropper and they drink like crazy. I do this a couple times a day for maybe 2-3 days until they have lost interest in it. But it sounds like you already have this under control.

I think if she's warm and eating she'll probably return to normal in a few days.

None of the eggs came out broken right? If one did she needs to get to the vet.
