well, for many many years now I have been producing a normal applegate here and there from my older pair. I lost my female last year egg bound but was able to get a couple more from my Friend Jason Nelson.
Anyway, I bred my older male to the female I got from Jason and out of 11 eggs only 4 of them went full term. They hatched today and out of the four eggs I got three normals (hets or dbl-hets?)and one albino.
I am not really sure exactly what is going on with this line and I have talked in length with Applegate about it. He says there was a Gentlmen over seas that also bought 2.2 from him way back when and produces about 25% normals also. I gave Bob a pair of the normals about three years ago cause he wanted to play with them but I don't know if they bred for him this year.
Anyway, its weird to think there could be two seperate genes working here at the same time. Some years I would get 100% albinos and the most I ever got on normals was 4 out of 12.
