Guyanan X Columbian?

ROLL_emBOAS Jul 22, 2007 01:16 AM

What are the general thoughts on crossbreading a Guyanan and Columbian? I'm curious. Would they sell alright? I've been considering it, but I can't find any info.

Thanks
Rai

The Guyanan is in the Boa constrictor constrictor (BCC) subspecies, and the Colombian is in the Boa constrictor imperator (BCI) subspecies. So the babies would be subspecies crosses or mutts. As far as I know, pure Guyanans are worth considerably more than either a BCI or a mutt. So from a pure economic standpoint you'd be much better off making baby Guyanans.

My personal opinion is that mutts aren't worth five cents. YMMV.
