I woke up to eggs this morning! I couldn't believe she had 8 - I think that's really good for her first clutch! She was bred to a Het. Pied, so these are all 50% Hets. Hopefully we'll get lots of girls. The eggs are kind of spotted, but they have veins, so I think they'll be ok. Mom still had one egg to go in this pic, but I didn't realize that until after I'd taken it.

Thanks for looking!

Thats great, good luck with them.
The spots on the eggs are called windows, they should be fine.

Congrats, that has got to be a great feeling getting that many eggs? What was mom weight when you bred her?

FireStorm Jul 22, 2007 12:20 PM

She was almost 1700g, and now she's a little over 950g. That's why I was surprised to get so many eggs. She really wasn't that big, so I was thinking I would get like 4 or 5. It makes me wonder how many eggs I'll get when shes bigger.

Good luck on the female ratio..Since mom threw so many eggs for her weight, they are definite holdbacks!

Thanks! I had the same thought about holding them back. I'm hoping her daughters will have nice big clutches like she did. It's worth a shot, anyways.
