one of my leos stays in the upper part of the hide on the hot side of the cage all day. The other changes from hot side to humid hide alot. Yesterday, the one that never moves was ready to shed, it was very easy to tell, so I moved her to the humid hide, I had to move her back there a couple times but she did shed last night. Whenever you hold her she hardly moves. Could she be sick? or is she just extra lazy? The other one is quite squirmy whenever you try to hold her. However, the lazy one looks healthier than the smaller more active one, that is to say she is fatter.
So, is anything wrong? Or am I just worrying over nothing?

Also, what is a good pattern for when to dust their prey with Calcium and Vitamins? They have pure calcium in a dish in their cage, but how often should I give them Calcium w/D3 and the vitamin suppliment?

Thanks for any help!

as long as she is shedding fine, eating fine, and pooping fine i'd say you're worrying over nothing. leos can be quite lazy creatures, especially when they realize that they not longer have to "hunt" and that food will just come to them (either by walking by, or by sitting in a food bowl). she may also just be a calmer leo when it comes to handling.

yeah my leo doesnt move much if i get him out, but wanders around after a few minutes, but treads lightly until he gets on my shoulder, then he just hangs on my back lol

Mine's pretty mellow too. Usually she'll climb right up onto your hand, whereupon she will lie down to suck the warmth out of you for a few minutes before doing any exploring. I think she gets frustrated that there's always another hand though.

My gecko was not a very active gecko when I first got him, He stayed in his humid hide ALL the time, after a month he started taking to other areas of his cage. When he gets out to explore, he just sits there like... when you gonna put me back..?

i wouldn't worry about it, if it looks fine. getting a fecal sample couldn't hurt though. how warm is the tank? they like it in the high 80's. i would dust every other feeding, keep the dish of supplements in their tank and still dust, some use the dish all the time and others barely ever use it so... good luck!
