early 1990's I shipped 10 Cyclura cornuta to Carlo Ponti in Perugia, Italy. He used to own a large private zoo there. I have no idea whether he bred them or even still has them, but at least its a start. TC

...Are you sure he was not Carlo "Guidi"? He used to import some C.cornutas in that period and bred them 4 years later.

not 100% sure of the last name although I shipped to him many times and he visited me here in the U.S. His wifes name was Magdalena if that helps. TC

steno Jul 23, 2007 10:50 AM

Sorry mate, but what have you got against Italian language?!
Be patient and carefull when you speak (write) on an International forum, especially if is just an Italian that can help you out

http://www.zooproject.com/

That's the link of Carlo and Maddalena Guidi the one (but maybe not "only" that bred Cyclura cornuta so far.

Cheers
Stef

wants to do the paperwork because it is very difficult and time consuming. At best it would take months ands its just not worth the hassle. TC

hakalak Jul 23, 2007 02:02 PM

NO NO :D I like Italians and Italy...but not the speach....couse I don't know to much about it....
And now I would like to thank ALL YOU that helped me.....Yesterday I was thinking that it will be very,VERY difficult and now Im a little step clouser with my dream....................

steno Jul 23, 2007 03:02 PM

my advice is keeping in touch with them because I've heard that 2 years ago they had added one more couple of 6 years old cornuta (quite impressive I guess) to their breeding stock.

hakalak Jul 23, 2007 05:05 PM

I emailed them an now I'm waiting for answer....I have one more question....It's abouth CITES...I'm going to australia this winter and if I would buy there a reptile......what will happen if I would like to bring it to POLAND...??I know that Cites is an agriment to incrise illegal traiding of animals....but if I would buy a Lizard with documents...can I bring it home??
Sorry,I know that it's not a forum abouth this.....

steno Jul 23, 2007 11:37 PM

you can't in anyway.
Australia is not a CITES regulated Land because there is no chance at all to export/import both fauna and flora. Otherwise I'll import a bunch of Trachydosaurus rugosus for 80 Aussie dollars instead of paying a single specimen 2000 euros or 4000$...

Hello,

visit: http://www.cyclura.info

I have some unrelated pairs of Cyclura cornuta available, captive bred 12/2006. all animals with EC-CITES permits.
Poland is also a member of the european community, so you do not need further import permits for them only, the EC-Cites permits !
Contact me if you are interested.
Greetings,
Juergen Schmidt

If you are looking for Cyclura Nubila or Cyclura Cornuta you should contact Jiri Gabris email: gabris@razdva.cz . He has both species available for a correct price.
