Wadi is getting better

BigKooz Jul 22, 2007 02:12 PM

(Wadi is a juvi female egyptian)
i am still worried about Wadi.this is what happened:
1. disgusting,loud neighbors move in
2.they bring rest of family
3.they make more noise than the rest of the block combined
4.they adopt 2 misbehaven ,loud puppies
5.they spend less than 5 minutes attempting to train them(unless you count yelling and kicking)
6.everyone complains
7.nothing is done until I do something(i get arrested)
8.half the family(2 apts)stops paying rent and is evicted
9.they all move in together anyway
10.the loud dogs are removed(the neighborhood is making it a holiday when the humans are removed as well)
11.threats of legal actions force them to hover just above the noise pollution level
12. in the mean time Wadi is terrified, stressed, dehydrated and stops eating(terrible because Wadi never gave me ANY problems before this)miraculously everyone else is fine

I have done everything possible and she is coming around slowly.
She also no longer appreciates such an up close view of Kooz.
Her new room is MUCH,MUCH,QUIETER.She has been seen prowling the cage. I think she has started eating again as i have found some small poo. I had to do some tubing so it could be from that but I think she has eaten some. Anyone been through something like this?

when do you stop tubing?(in general)

BigKooz Jul 22, 2007 05:44 PM

she looked like an import-she looks much better now. do i continue to assist until she is "100%" with eating and poo?
i am just giving her gatorade with probiotic and some uro-dust.
same thing i give the recent import baby mali. he is doing nice.
So:1st signs of independence or "100"%?

Well, as long as you're tubing, it's impossible for her to be 100%, isn't it?

Teasing aside, I would stop assist feeding as soon as she's eating on her own. I would want to minimize the stress. I've not had to do much of this kind of thing (only one uro, long time ago), so take it for what it's worth.

i agree with the "100%" philosophy.
i felt it was necessary because in addition to the run down look, her tail had lost mass and her hind legs appeared baggy.
In spite of Kooz's growth spurt making her look tiny- she is back to about where she was.
the little one however, there really was no choice as he was skinny with a runny poo-not bad sort of typical for imports, but in need of some assistance.he is doing very well. so is wadi.
besides it was more hydration and appetite stimulation than assist feeding.but whatever is necessary.thnx for your input.
