Should I get a blood?

gothicbambi Jul 22, 2007 02:20 PM

Alright I'll try and make a long boring story short for you guys ^-^ Okay I've heard good and bad about them, and I've heard good and bad about every animal I own so I take them both in. Anyways, I've been keeping snakes for almost 4 years now, I have 2 ball pythons, 1 rosy boa, 1 Spotted python (Very pissing little guy) and 1 red tail boa. I've done very well with them, the only sickness they ever gotten was dry scales on the rosy who gave it to one of my ball pythons, but they are both better knmow, the local reptile stores out here actally know what their doing and helped me out ^-^ Other then that all of my snakes are heathy eating machines XD With only one pissy guy in the family, and hes the smallest >:P Anyway the store is having a sale on their cb sumatran bloods, all they have left are baby males, they are are handable and havent tried to bite anyone I've seen pick them up. I've always wanted one, I'm just not sure if I should get one? I think I'm ready for one, but I like to hear from other poeple who've actally kept them before, thanks for any help! ~ Georgia

Prior to aquiring ANY animal the keeper should research
requirements and determine if they are capable of meeting such..
Many of these animals are kept and enjoyed by the folks here..
Will owning such an animal benefit your life as a keeper?
Will you be able to satisfy it's needs ? Pet shops are not the place for the inexperienced keepers to aquire animals..Most of the staff are generally inexperienced themselves..Please pardon
my answer to your question, but if you have to ask chances are
your not YET ready..Please read up on the species and when you decide you'll be better off having done so..There are 3 subspecies to this family..The animals known as bloods are just a wee bit more tempermental to keep..Although all 3 have simular
requirements...Your on the right path by asking here but only you, youself know If your ready for such an animal..
Tim..
