Brooks feeding pic

EddieF Jul 22, 2007 07:14 PM

Belle is now 26" long, 178 grams and growing!

Her colors are fading, this picture shows them brighter than they really are. She's still quite colorful but definitely the black is fading and there's more yellow especially on her belly.

But I liked how her scales came out in this photo!

I love that! Securing dessert while he's taking care of dinner!

Great pic, chowing down one and saving the other for later. My black kings do that to.

nice snakes guys, gotta love the brooksi. may i ask you guys ...since your snakes are '06 and seem thick or big how often do you feed them? i feed mine young or babies every 3 or 4 days or even 5 days. depending on which snakes i am dealing with.

I'm not exactly on a strict schedule with my snakes - if a meal is particularly big I might wait an extra day before the next one. Or, if it's feeding day but they haven't been out 'hunting' yet, I might make it a smaller meal.

But the snake in that picture, Belle, is basically on a three hopper every four days schedule. Sometimes it's two hoppers and sometimes it's three or five days.

She seems to be happy with this arrangement. She's probably ready for the next size up in mice, but I have a Kisatchie snake that's a bit smaller than she is and it's just convenient to give her more of the smaller mice so I can buy just one size.

I normally feed every sunday. Sometimes they will eat one hopper and sometimes two. I always offer two and if they eat them great, if they eat one, I feed the other to my pacman frog or another snake. Hope this helps
