i use them and helix i like the helix better due to it is constant temp compared to the on off style of the ranco but still get the job done nice and good. my next thermostat i am looking into will be a herpstat pro i have heard lots of good about them

I am currently using herpstats and have zero complaints with them.

Ranco Thermostats, from what I have heard are pretty good. I would trust one and I have always wanted one.

I don't sell thermostats, but I have done some serious research into which thermostats are the best and a good proportional thermostat is far better/safer than a good "on off" thermostat.

Basically, an "on off" thermostat will eventually wear out and fail in either the on or the off position. If you are lucky, it fails in the off position, if you are not lucky, you run the risk of baking your snakes.

A good proportional thermostat like a Helix does not suffer from this problem.

Helix is worth the extra $$'s

I had that happen with both Ranco thermostats that I used to use, luckily they failed in the off position. I tried repeatedly resetting them with no success, they were basically crapped out. I have since switched to Helix and have never had a single problem.

I had a Ranco malfunction and lost several breeder males. I now use Helix on my incubators and Herpstat PRO & Herpstat II's on my racks.
