What is a lavendar cal king supposed to look like? cause I saw one labeled lav in the petshop today, and it didnt look right to me, and of course, I didnt have my camera with me...

on a side note, I can't believe anyone pays petshop prices for anything... I didn't know cal kings went for $100 and deserts and floridas went for $80...

Lavender cali kings are a purple color.

And cali kings can easily go for $100... A lot of the morphs are $100 at least...
Same goes with morphs of desert kings.

Also you gotta realize pet stores are only out to make a profit. They'll buy wholesale, possibly cali kings at $20 each, and then resell them for several times that.
That's how it goes.

Here is a pic of a lavender cali king.

Here's my lav -

Don't be too hard on pet store prices - they provide an opportunity to see the animal first hand, handle the animal first hand, return the animal easily, etc. that you don't necessarily get from a mail order breeder.

subtract shipping of $40-$50 and you get a price you might find at a show for normals.

I guess I didn't factor in shipping costs... makes a little more sense then... I bought both of mine from shows and didn't pay more then $15 for either of them....
The lav they had at the shop was definatly darker... it had real light cream bands and a deeper, almost chocolate look... either way, it was pretty... wish I had a bigger house, I keep seeing more and more that I want...
