My sons favorite pet.

BioDemon Jul 23, 2007 05:17 AM

I haven't posted anything for a while and had the camera out this weekend. I thought I'd try to share a family photo. I've never posted a photo before so I hope this works. My son is two and a half and will hold this snake for up to a half hour several times a week "supervised". They are about the same age and get along very well. The Milk snake has never tried to bite it's entire life. These two are long time budies and growing up togather.

Great Pic!!

I think it's very important to keep the kids involved.. i always let my kids hold my animals when they ask.. Which is just about every day!

This is really the first year that my 4 y/o son understands whats going on and he is very excited to see my eggs hatching.. And, although I never get bored with hatching eggs, this year i feels like it's my first time all over again..

Cute kid by the way!

Ya, Kids love Herps. Keeping them involved sparks a new exitement that's like being a kid all over again! I find it sad when I visit some breeders who's snakes are just breeders that are for the most part untamed and mean. NICE PICS!! Thanks for sharing all the pics guys!!! I love to see others like myself sharing herps with our kids. Cute Kids!! Nice Albino Milk too by the way. So many people think I'm nuts for having snakes and letting my kid play with them. It's just a way to share wonderful things with kids, and share the exitement.

I'm all for keeping the kidlets involved w/ herps. They love it too. I love it when my kids have a friend over that says, "I don't like snakes." Then we go into the snake room and you can't get the little person to leave they like it so much.

This one of my favorite photos, because my son spotted & caught this Bull snake while we were fishing. He was so excited about it afterwards.

Keep em involved.

Magnus really seems to enjoy his time in the field with you - that's awesome. I'm impressed with how Emma's come along this season, too! They sure liked those Horned Lizards, didn't they?!

Doug,
Bob (Dell's dog) is a kick to take along into the field. He's amazingly well behaved and energetic enough to wear me out just watching him!

Great idea taking a dog out in those western cattle fields.Being a New York guy I can't tell which ones are the bulls from a distance. I never wear red when flipping rocks.
.........

Damn I hate those stampedes

Yep, I too have had kids say "I hate snakes", Then they see them and want to hold them. Once they hold them they can't put them down! Fun to see how they are scared of what they don't understand, and as they start to learn and understand them more a spark hits them. They get exited.

Well thanks everyone.

Doug, the dog really has a good time out hunting for snakes, well I think he likes the rabbits and mice more then anything.

Cole thanks again, the kids enjoy being around you too, always good to have positive people around your kids. And you know how much that dog loves you. He about pisses himself every time he see's you.

Bio. keep those kids into snakes.
