Has anyone ever tried popping their newborn hognose to tell the sex. I just had a litter of albinos and possible hets but its a little harder to tell the sex of them just by looking than what I thought it would be.

You only pop babies, never yearlings or adults, as it could cause injury, as well as the fact that they have better muscle control so it is not accurate.

when you have a full clutch to look at and compare. Just go through the clutch comparing vent to tail tip length. It's fairly easy to see the difference when you have a full clutch to compare. For those times when I'm not sure, I have a set of very small probes. I prefer to probe and feel more confident that I'll get it right.
Just my opinion. Others may not agree.
