Shedding Question

Alanna Jul 23, 2007 01:00 PM

I have my leo about 7 months now and she was 3 months old when i got her. She shed every onece in a while but lately she has been shedding a lot (Twice in the past 2 weeks). Is this normal and if so how long will she shed for. Her shedding is poerfect and she has no issues with it. I read that after 18 months they stop growing and only shed a couple of times a year??? I feed her either 6 crickets or 10 mealworms a day. Is she just healthy and getting bigger?

She's fine, don't worry. When they shed it's a sign that they are growing (There skin is to small for them), So yes, she is growing still. Don't worry though, they only shed when they need to shed. It is no problem. Hope this helps!

I agree... mine seems to have spurts where he sheds more often.

twice in 2 weeks is normal. if she was shedding like only once in a month i don't think thats normal. my leo is like a year old and it probally sheds 1-2 times in weeks. thats just that i notice, it could be more. how much does she weigh/is she a good weight? i wouldn't worry about it as long as the sheds all come off.
