when he said that the female is a "nice" normal.... I think he means that it is also a hypo but a normal hypo and not an extreme hypo.

Just like the I have below.

Shannon,

are none of the hatchlings extreme? They look real nice hypos but can't tell if the tricolor is extreme or not.

I wouldn't call any of them "extreme" but they are better than normal hypos.I like to call them "ultralight" hypos. Lets one know that one of the parents was a extreme.

Shannon,

Do you know whether the extreme trait is a simple recessive gene or something else?

Nice adult pair. Those babies are awesome.

Dave,
I don't know for sure what it is.I think its a little more complex than just another simple recessive since for one thing its compatible with the other line/lines of hypos.

Nice Hypos Shannon!!

Did you slit the eggs?

My first Hondo clutch is cooking right now. How do I know if I have to open them and how do I know I'm not sliting babies? hehe

Sorry for the questions, these are my first snake eggs...

NIR,
If I see the first on pip and the eggs are on the tuff side I will slit them all. I have lost to many perfect snakes in the past cause the shells were to thick and they could slice out.
I use a razor blade and just make a tiny slit at the highest point of the egg and then use a tiny pair of siccors to do the rest and I have never hit a snake.

Very beautyful hatchlings,
in Germany we call these light grey/silver animals hatched out of hypo x hypo or hypo x extreme hypo eggs - SuperHypo
