I am interested in getting a hognose and any info would be appreciated. Are they aggressive and also I have heard that they have a pretty nasty bite. Is that true? Thanks in advance for your response.

The only bites I have ever heard of where feeding bites due to keeper mistakes. Are they dangerous.....I would not hesitate to let any kid hold them, I take them to ed. talkes all the time.

Thats good to know. I saw some pictures of a bite and it looked pretty scary. Lots of swelling. Thanks for the info.

If it is the bite that has been circulating, the guy "tricked" the snake into biting him, and let it chew for a bit. He wanted to see what would happen. As with anything, some people will be more sensitive. Some people react to bees, some don't. Same with certain snakes. Corns make me a little ichy, but I have a lot of allergies, so.......

I don't know about WEsterns, but my Eastern would never, ever bite. She's the shyest thing there is. I did accidentally nick my finger on one of her teeth once and it took a few minutes to stop bleeding- like a paper cut. No other reaction. I know the bite photos you mean- it's pretty impressive. So don't let the hoggy chew on you if it bites in a feeding response.
