So I recently purchased a yearling... he's quite nice.

I was researching his natural habitat and discovered that they range from high elevation pine forests, to tropical rainforest, and even to coastal areas. All high humidity, ranging from temperate to tropical.

Frankly I love placing all my animals in enclosures that mimic their natural envrironment... problem is every where I look I have seen advice on placing them in a cage with aspen shavings, a water dish, a cave, and low humidity. Even though he is in a tank such as this, I want to mimic his natural environment.

Is there any problems with a tropical habitat? I understand the traditional setup is for easy cleaning, but my hypothetical tank would be about 100 gallons and contain live plants that could withstand his weight (atleast for now).
