I found one of my salvators eggs in the water, it could not have been there more than 12hrs. so is it possible that it is still good?

within half an hour you might have a chance, but longer than that the chances are almost nil.

Something else to consider with reptiles is that how they lay their eggs tells you a lot about fertility. Randomly dropping eggs is just dumping them. Likely they are not ever gonna hatch, whether they are fertile or not, they won't be viable. I have never bred monitors and FR would be the one to ask this of. But any herp that just lays eggs all over is dumping them, not expecting them to hatch. I will be anxious to hear if any of your Salvators hatch.
