This lizard room is protected by my always alert, ever vigilant, vicious attack-tiger!

I would like to share a little story with all of you folks and believe me even though its a terible thing...i found it very amusing .

This past weekend I went away for a small vacation, leaving behind a bedroom swamped with all sorts of herps and of cource 2 cats, and a bunny rabbit. Just so all of you should know, my cat bear, named very well, who is an all black main coon toping out at 17 lbs is a alfa male and is a friendly cat when he wants to be, but usally only with my family and I. Anyway he's, for the past 5 years now, gone into my bedroom and checked out all of the lizards every single mourning and will even lay on my bed on occasions. so you could imagine that my bedroom is his "jungle," and yes he truely thinks he's a panther lol. Anyway we left him behind along with others for my animal siter to take care off. When we returned home on monday, my family and wern't expecting to find a note that said "everything is great, the lizards are fine, but bear attacked me." After speaking with my sitter about this, I came to find out that when bear saw my sitter in my reptile room, he attacked her...hissing, growling, and literally attacking her with rage lol. I'm laughing now, but thats only because i think my cat is the man! Especially after this incident. She had to grab my pillow off of my bed and walk down to the garage, using the pillow as protection to get out of the house...she said even with the pillow the cat wouldn't back off! Moral of the story is...we never are going to need a dog in case of a robery because we got bear! However my mother is now considering making him an outside cat because of his quote, "rotten perosnality" haha. But I still get a laugh in when he tags one of my friends who think they can handle the beast! Hope you all enjoy...i'll post some picts later!

Cheers,
Paul

Hard to beat a Maine Coon, coolest of all kats!

Sunfox Jul 25, 2007 08:35 PM

Here are my attack cats (well, kittens). They even patrol around the cages to make sure the lizards are safe and aren't being harrassed by houseflies.

Ditto the burgler alarms here too... we have three cats: FuzzButt runs and hides, Monkey greets everyone at the door with a rubber ball and a "Wanna Play NOW???" look on his face, and Jet just sits back and gives this cool "James Dean" look to everyone. They all love to take turns babysitting Gizmo, though, when they're not busy holding the couch down so it won't run away.
