These guys started pipping on Saturday, and the last two are about to emerge, for a total of (lucky) 13. They are a cross of a female Nueces County locality P. emoryi meahllmorum and an orange candycane (guttatus) male.

Two more...

Very nice Toby! How's the snakin' been lately? I am building an ark!

Thanks Todd! Need any help with that ark? I'll come over in my little fishing boat! LOL! It's weird, but with all the flooding, I haven't been seeing that many snakes. The ones that I see are semi-aquatic (ribbons, waters and a few garters), and I guess that the terrestrial ones are holed up and trying to stay dry. It's been an excellent year for the anurans, though! Hope you guys are doing okay with all the rain.

Congratulations Toby .. some great colours on these hatchlings, love the maroon blotches on the grey background should make some stunning creamsicles in the future.

Thanks Sue! I wish that they'd stay maroon, but I'm sure they will fade with age. I will be happy if the gray ground stays nice and clean. Yeah, I'm looking forward to those future creams also.
