I have 3.3 scarlet king chowhounds. the 3 males went off feed last night for the first time. All are big fat and clean. They weren't introduced to the females this season because the females were new and not big enough. Now 2 of the 3 females are big enough (one is huge and last week I even thought maybe she was ovulating but it would be very late in the season). Would any harm be done to introduce the males to some of the females this late in the season? I was under the impression that females could store sperm for next season anyhow. I thought maybe the hot august weather could have them turned off from feeding, but that doesnt explain the females willingness to eat. Thanks in advance.
