What is a False Bottom Tank?

I have seen it mentioned several times, but without much explaination. A description or link with set up info would be apreciated.

A false-bottom is a way of raising a soil mixture in a terrarium up an inch or two creating an area for water to drain into below. Having well drained soil in a terrarium is the key to growing many species of plants. Most species of frogs also do not like to live in soggy soil so having well drained soil is very important. Cages that house species that don't need high humidity don't usually need a dranage area below the substrate because the terrarium doesn't get sprayed with water often and the soil never becomes water logged.
