Not too sure why you are set on purchasing a pre-made rack..... they are WAY more expensive than building your own. All you need is a drill and some melamine and your set. Home depot or any other hardware store will pre-cut your wood for you too.

I've never purchased a pre-made rack and I am not the most handy guy around but I build my own and they work great

i am worried if i do it myself there could be a potentual fire hazard so i want it professinally done.

Are you worried about wiring the heat tape? It is really not hard at all... there are directions made by the company that manufactures flexwatt. Also, just make sure you are using a thermostat and everything should be fine Milks don't like it TOO hot so the fire hazard could only be caused by poor wiring and not the heat tape getting too hot.

I like the reptilebasics racks (http://www.reptilebasics.com/home.php?cat=2510). They are light, come in just the right sizes and are just great.

Racks are pretty easy to build.. but, with all the pre built/pre wired racks on the market prices have come down a bit...

I built and wired these 3 racks and they ended up costing me about 375ea. (including wood, heat tape, caster wheels,etc.).. not including the Helix of course...

There are a number of rack mfgrs now that produce excellent products.

I could list 4 off the top of my head, but for your own good, look on the classifieds here on this site (the cages one). You will get a nice sample of what is out there.

OK, I'll list some..

Personally, I prefer to size the cage to the snake, and racks typically do the opposite. Depending on the species you are housing, a 32qt box may be just right, or too large or too small. So keep the needs of the snake in mind.

For that reason, I like cages. Here are two mfgrs that provide cost-effective and durable, super-functional caging in sizes suitable for a wide variety of colubrids:

Doug at herpcages.com has done any mod I've asked for on his cages. Recesses for heat tape are standard. Just great setups that you can taylor to the snake.

I have been very happy with my racks from Animal plastics. they are made of thick plastic so there is absolutely no give. They deliver them when they say up front, which is more than I can say for some other rack and cage builders I have worked with in the past..
