I have an interesting question...

bpfreak Jul 25, 2007 09:32 PM

This could be a dumb idea... but at the same time i think that it could potentially huge.

If one was to breed say a het lavender albino male to say a female 'normal' albino. Is it not concievable that the 'lavender' part of the albino could be an underlying dom gene or something? As a result you could get lavender albinos and albinos in the same clutch?

I think this should be tried... and hey.. maybe it has been tried and the results hidden... but i think i'm a conspiracy theorist. lol. It probably doesn't even work that way.

It's just something i was thinking about...

Pretty positive Ralph and others have done this and only have got hets out of it.

Actually according to what I have read Lavender Albino x Albino pairings are not compatible. By not compatible I mean 100% of offspring die in the egg. Ralph tried to make double hets in 2003, 2004, and 2005. He tried the cross one time each year. The deaths could be coincidence but I feel otherwise.

I heard that someone in Asia got hatchlings from Albino X Lavender and they where normal looking.

The one I still haven't heard of is Caramel X Albino. I'm still wondering if those two could be alleles.
