Hey thanks for the response! Would a cross between this snake and a jungle produce some interesting offspring or is it best to breed Irian's with Irian's?

That animal is special if you ask me. Maybe not the most pretty one in the world, but it has some very interresting markings if you ask me!

Do not waist breeding it to a jungle, get your self a good IJ of the oposit sex.

Hey thanks for the help I appriciate it. I have only had him since the beginning of the month, but he's doing well. He does like to spend alot of time in his hide box, but I guess thats to be expected. He's about four foot and to me appears to have good weight to him, alittle flighty going back in the tank but very docile.

one thing I have noticed with this python, and Im not sure if alot of other carpets are like this, he seems intelligent and very aware and interested in his surroundings or when somebody comes by his tank. I have had balls, burms, and boas but none of those seemed as, well intelligent thanks again.

I like the way it looks. Very cryptic. I just got my first Irian Jaya, a baby, and I hope it turns out like yours. Everyone is so into pretty pythons. I like 'em freaky looking. I too have noticed the intelligence of this species. Ive had bloods, and boas and various colubrids, but these guys take the cake for intelligence, although my blood python is up there, and almost affectionate. I hope to breed my IJ to another cryptic one and see how crazy it gets. Should be a neat experiment.
Good luck
Jason
