Mites!?!?!?!

PhillyBoyInTN Jul 26, 2007 05:07 PM

Was checkin out my snake while he was in his terrarium and I noticed 2 very tiny almost spider looking things crawling on his face and body. Is this mites? If so, what should I do now?

If they were black in coloration and a little bigger than the period at the end of this sentence, then they are probably mites. If you can get one squeeze it and pop it and if blood comes out, odds are it was a mite. If I were you I'd get some Provent-a-mite asap. Some people use the bedding and lice spray you can get from Walmart but I don't trust it enough to use on my snakes. I will only use something specially developed for snakes. Get the Provent-a-mite and follow the directions and go kill some mites

Order some PAM provent-a-mite this is the only product designed for reptiles and unlike the cheap products found in pet stores it treat all stages of development of the mitea (egg, larva and adult)
