miracle grow

GrotesqueBurgess Jul 26, 2007 05:39 PM

I was wondering, is it safe to use miracle grow soil as bedding for snakes? I know it wouldn't be the best idea for something that is likely to eat parts of the bedding, such as insects or mice, but since a snake won't be digesting the bedding, can miracle grow soil hurt them?

Is miracle grow toxic or do they use natural fertilizers like bone meal and worm castings?

I wonder because I've had a bag of the stuff sitting around for months.

Thanks in advance for replies!

Hi
i had this in my pots in Chameleon Viv and he ingested a minute amount and it made him poorly (yea I know he should not been eating any soil )
Wrote to the manufactures an they said it was perfectly safe
Although when i put a post out some else replied and said no it is toxic it contains Petroleum any way i chucked it out and went with organic peat no fertilizers
Cheers choppy
