Lighting

I just recently started growing my collection of balls and got a rack and made a snake room in my basement. But it does not receive much natural sunlight. I was wondering what people do to simulate days or if they just keep the snakes in pretty much total darkness all day.

Thanks guys in advance for any info you have

Ryan

Yeah, they are nocturnal and subterranean,so they don't need the UV light(Like alot of reptiles do,in order to build calcium.)

I have a friend that simply turns on the light in his snakeroom in the morning, and then turns it off at night(I've offered to wire in a timer or something...blah).
Another option is to use two photocells(One in a box with a light bulb wired to the other one that is outside,or in the window.)That way they are on natures lightcycle(,not my idea, but i can't remember who to credit for it atm.)
