I posted previously that my gator went off rats. He is a eating machine with everything else ( rabbits,g pigs, chicks, fish, crawfish, chicken etc) but as soon as he would get a rat in his mouth he would let it go. His girl still eats them, so I didnt think it was something wrong with the supplier, but switched anyway. Well even with a fresh batch he would spit them out but take a rabbit or a handful of chicks instead. The one food he truely loves is chicken or any bird for that matter, so I started stuffing the rats inside of whole cornish hens, or 2 inside of whole chickens. He ate them with no problem. But the cost of chickens and hens for him to eat a rat is a bit much. So I have made a chicken/egg dip for his rats. I put some water 2 whole chicken breast and 6 whole eggs including the shell in a blender. Then while the rats are thawing out I soak them in the chicken/egg dip. I swear he can smell them before I get to the enclosure. So if anybody out there has issues with their crocs eating a certain item...give it a try.
