Sorry I don't have an easily accessible pictures, but my oldest Ornatus is 13 yrs old this year. If any of you have my book, he's the one on the cover. His name is Kael and I got him as a hatchling in 1994.

Wow, great job Rob. It feels good to have "pets" that live a long time. Hopefully my sav will. I have a black rat snake that is 17 and a few chickens that are going on 11 and a hound that is 12 and that is old for her size.

We've had our ornate, Nessie, since "conseption" - she/he was hatched from our clutch (Little Nessie (m) and Spike (f)) Nov. 1, 2000, so that makes her/him almost 7 yrs. old. However, we have been raising ornates and niles (and Argus lately) since 1985. Ornates are the most intelligent monitor IMO from my own personal experience.
Cheers,
Nessiesmom

No pics, sorry. But here we go;
2.1 h2o monitors- 1 1/2 years
1.0 Melinus- 1 1/2 years

0.0.2 savannahs- 1 week(pet store rejects, doing much better)
Now to pair up my melinus, and find some ackies and tristus!

Three savs....
One since hatchling....have had 5 yrs.
One since a bit over a foot....have had 4yrs
One since mostly grown, 4 or 5 iinches of tail bitten off before I got him.....have had a couple years.
Ackie, three footed (sib bit the other front one off with the breeder) , got with a major systemic infection (in a tub of babies on dirt with no other notable care) and had her on meds for a month plus.....never really has grown so is under a foot still, full of piss and great animal otherwise....have had 3 yrs.
