skin condition

I've posted this on a couple of other forums...just trying to get as many opinions as I can.

I've got a young adult female Borneo python with a small rough patch on her neck, a little larger than a quarter in diameter. The scales look dry and shriveled. Cage temps are mid-high 70s at night to high 80s/low 90s in the day; humidity around 50-60%....as with my other short-tailed pythons. All are feeding well and except for this patch on this one snake, there are no other signs of illness.

Any clue as to what this might be? I'm planning on taking her to a vet on Thursday but I'd like to know beforehand if this is something I can take care of myself.

thanks

Are you sure it's not just a patch of dried on/stuck shed?
