What green snake hatches from a duck sized egg and grows to be an 8 foot red mean monster? I just discovered these hatching at 5 AM. No cribo but neat stuff anyway so thought you might be interested.

Behold!!! The new, genetically engineered, nonvenomous... Green mamba!!! lol
Okay, now to be serious. Great looking snake. I remember some of your old posts about the red Chironius on the 'Racers and Coachwhips' forum. How big do they get? Do the adults accept rodents?

They get over 8 feet and are frog and lizard eaters although I plan to start these babies onto frog scented pinks and keep them on rodents. Large wild caught adults have not done well in the long run in captivity. I have kept a 3 foot wild caught going on frogs for several months now and it has gone through a few sheds but most larger ones arriving even in seemingly good condition eventually spaz out from stress and roll over and die without significant losses of weight or any good reason besides stress. But who know who or what might of cracked them in the rib area during capture to harm them accidentally? Hopefully these captive born babies won't spaz and die and they appear so far quite calm as compared to the spastic wild caughts. They are also very prone to dehydration and need to be near a large water source all the time with a dripper/mister as they stress and forget to drink. Most important is a good basking light as their bellies need heat to digest properly. Here is an adult.
