IGUANA ENCLOSURES

herpsltd Jul 28, 2007 10:08 AM

Mike,
Here is a pic of my largest enclosure. I didn't build this as it was here when we purchased the farm. The size is 12'X24'. Half of the roof is wire and the other half is translucent plastic roofing. Flooring is wood and the sides are hardware cloth. In this enclosure I have 1.7 het for albino Iguanas and a pair of sub-adult Rhinos. This is the first time I have mixed species but they've been together for 8 months with no problems. In fact my first clutch of Albino Green iguanas are due to hatch in 9-12 days!!! I will post pics when they hatch. T.C.

Do you use UVB light for your green iguana? I hear people telling me you don't use it for your Cyclura, so I wonder if you use one for your green. Thanks!

Mine are kept in full sun. NO ADDITIONAL LIGHT IS REQUIRED. However if you keep the temps up where the animal can thermoregulate properly I have kept them for months WITHOUT any uv light source sucessfully. thanks...TC
