Pics of Thunders tail

CLizKeeper Jul 28, 2007 04:06 PM

Here's pics of poor lizards tail. He seems to have less energy today. We are feeding him critical care formula & still looking for a vet near Northampton, UK.

On a lighter note, thought you might like to see Thunders sister Lightning in her favourite position - close to light source on top of Hal

That part of Thunders tail is dead, it may get stiff and just fall off but the problem is the infection can keep traveling up the rest of the tail unless treated and stopped.

** Until you get him seen I would pour hydrogen peroxide on that or better yet get some "povodine iodine solution" and pour on or squeeze on with a soaked cotton ball, where the tail is good/and bad skin starts. Then use some neosporin or triple antibiotic ointment on the tail (again down to where it is dead) You can put paper towels in his tank while he's healing .

He's a real cute lil guy and I hope he gets fixed up Your other pic is very nice, the one dude has a nice fat tail, handsome boy and the little girl is very pretty too!

Let us know how he does..

Thanks Kel. I think you mean Rhodes vets Northampton. That was where we used to go before reptile vet moved away. They are now advising us to go to Bedford (25 miles away). That would be ok for the little guy but that surgery couldn't offer me an appointment for 4 days. I was not impressed. Poorly little lizards need more immediate attention than that. The bad bit of tail has now dropped off & he seems more lively. Stump looks healthy, fingers crossed he'll be ok now.
