This little C. bicinctores girl came to me with a few other emachiated /sad looking collareds about a month ago. I have been working with them trying to beef them up and adopt them out to good homes

It is so wonderful to see them coming back , getting bright clear eyes, some beef on their bones, and just looking real pretty! Shes so cute

Here's Meekah when she arrived and now :0)

Hey Eve,

question regarding those bicinctores. Do they seem to be a bit skinnier overall when compared with other Collared species? I know they'll be smaller than KONG, but I have kept a good few Mojaves and they all ate like pigs; had good muscle tone, and thick tails, just very slender. The males seem to beef up no problem for me just the females seem more slender. Do you notice this? Am I nuts? lol. thanks!

Your so right, we girls need to find out the bicinctores ladies secret on keeping a nice BODY, hehehhee, LMAO

They do stay very physically fit so to speak. But also get extremely thin fast. Girls that lay get thin, but the one girl I had in the 2nd pic above this post of Leotie I could count her ribs, and the spine /back bone was sharp, ya can't see that in the pic, such a shame, but each day they both look a tad better.

Yes, the males are either hunky and look awesome or also extremely thin, seems theres no middle for this species just a good healthy looking weight, or terribly thin. But I love the look of them, these and the vestigium, they may not be as colorful but they have that wild-ish look the girls have cute girlie faces and the males look very masculine, lol

My Boconctores male is always scrawny, yet he is free from parasites, and eats like a horse. The females fluctuate from sorry looking after laying to bug fat mommas in the blink of an eye. They have never been as chunky as my C. Collaris girls yet the certainly eat as much, probably more. They do tend to be a lot more active too though, so I guess they burn more calories
