I had an abscess on her mouth/lower lip lanced and drained on the 23rd and tonite I was trying to mash (?) it to get some of the ooze out of it before I applied the antibiotic creme the vet gave me to put (into) the wound....and the scab come off!!!! It left a big hole....I didnt pull it all the way off...but it is barely hangin there....i put some creme into the hole and attempted to put the skin (scab) over it. It seemed to hold there but is that supposed to happen?!!! The vet said there will be a hole there before he lanced and drained it but there was a *tiny* hole on it when I picked her up.......which seemed to close up and I wondered how I was supposed to get the creme (into) the wound as he said I needed to get it (into) the wound. I will take her back to vet on Monday but wondered if anyone else has seen or heard of such a thing happening with the scab/wound after an abscess was lanced.
