Mouthful....

JKruse Jul 29, 2007 12:13 AM

I can't wait to produce these for the first time, but it feels like eons away. My GB's are only 14 months old, and I understand the rule o' thumb is to wait 3 years? Anyway, this female is doing so well, it seems like yesterday she was on death's door until I introduced a lil' "eau de fence lizard".

PS -- Mike Russo, all I can say is "DAMN!" Sent you an e-mail btw.

wildcaught snakes that snake is descended from? Specifically pictures and collecting dates, and locale. Also how far removed is that snake from the WC. F1, F2, F3, any clue? That is a beautiful snake by the way.

I purchased these snakes from Lee Abbott right out o' the egg last year. I was assured that this line of W. Langtry animals were directly from Craig Trumbower. As far as the exact demographic history, I do not have that amount of detail. It certainly behooves me to ask greater detail from Craig, especially since many within the community are die-hards when it comes to this. I'm the same way with my triangulums. Thnks for giving me a little push.

Craig's lineage started with a female he caught on Pandale dirt in the late 80's. If I'm not mistaken he worked out a few breeding loans with Lee and somewhere along the way Lee may have incorporated some blood from snakes he caught west of Langtry. I have a photo of Craig's WC Pandale around here somewhere. If I can find it I'll post it.

I will be contacting both Lee and Craig later this week with regard to my animals. So there may be some crossing of locality you're saying?

Craig's female was a very nice light phase blairs that he and his family found up Pandale dirt during a full moon night sometime in the late 80's. If memory serves me, the first few years Craig bred the female to a dark phase Pandale dirt male that Lee had. If Lee mentioned that your animals had west Langtry blood, I'm assuming it came from several dark males he caught while we were out there with him in June of 1991. In any case, there's not a ton of geography between Pandale dirt and west Langtry, but generally Pandale dirt and west Langtry are treated as separate spots.
