Two Parter on Bully and sex.

blueselaphe Jul 29, 2007 04:27 PM

These two may go hand in hand. First, my female tends to be a bully to my male. He is the larger of the two. Every where he goes, she goes and gets on top of him, yet she shows submissive gestures when he bobs and displays. Should I seperate them for a bit? Secondly, I have seen mateing activity, but no eggs. They have been together for a few months and eat great. Again, I think they are tired of each other - the honeymoon is over and I feel seperation may be needed. They are both in a 75 gal E tank now. I have seperate 40 gals and I am not adverse about building them a larger enclosure in the near future. Thanks for your help,
Rock On,
-Blue

In most cases the female will only develop eggs after she brumates. Has she brumated? When?

He really should too.

Also what are their size, weight and age?

Thanks for the reply. They are both about a year and a half, full adults. I know the female has never been brumated. This is most likely the contributing factor. I will cool them off this winter and see what happens. It's a shame, I've already gone through a dozen candels and almost rined a Barry White record.
Thanks, Blue
