Bearded dragon eggs hatching

mike3 Aug 19, 2003 01:01 PM

hi i am watching a friends bearded dragon eggs and they just started to hatch. The eggs are pretty small and so are the hatchlings. about how many grams should a hatchling bearded dragon weigh. I am definalty not new to bearded dragons. I actually gave him the pair that mated so in a way these are sort of my eggs. I bred bearded dragons about 3 years ago and forgot some stuff on them. I know what cage temps have to be and all that stuff but i forgot how long you should leave the hathlings with yolk saks still attached in the incubator. 1 of the hatchlings that hatched is amazingly red. I am not talking a few specks on the back and sides i am talking deep red on the side spines, back, head, legs. For RedXGerman X RedXGerman hatchlings how much can I sell them for?? How long should i wait until i sell them?

Congrats!!

You should leave them in the incubator untill they're yoke sacks are completely gone (This will probably take a few hours.)

The Red one sounds awesome... Do you have a picture?

I don't know how much you should sell it for, but I'd wait at least 6 weeks before you do start selling them.

Good luck!

Cool. My female just laid 11 infertile eggs out of the blue. I had no idea she was holding them. Congrats on the babies. The mother and father were not clutch mates were they? That would not be a good thing. Good Luck with them.

No the parents are not realated to eachother. I bought them as hatchlings at 2 different swaps from two different breeders. The female was a couple of months older than the male when i got them. They just happened to be the exact same morph. They both look identical so i knew there hatchlings would have nice red color. So no they are not from the same parents. Also, the hatchlings arent really active right now. i have 3 hatchlings in the cage, and 1 in the incubator absorbing it's yolk sak. They all seem to be not moving that much. Is this normal?? Also, about how many grams should the hatchlings be? I remember when i hatched my beardie eggs they seemed to be a lot bigger. I am going to try to post pics tonight.

PS
It has been a long time since i worked with beardies, at the momment i am breeding maliensis and geryi uromastyx.
