Daytona is sooooo close....

tsusnakeguy Jul 30, 2007 05:21 PM

So who else is going to Daytona this year for the greatest event ever? I am planning on going but I am getting worried because I had a friend lined up that was going to let me put my babies on his table to sell but he has not emailed me back and his website is not up anymore and I don't have his number. So I may be a little stressed when I get there haha but I will still be incredibly happy.

Just be sure if you bring your animals to sell, you take care of the permits etc. I know a guy that put a few animals on a table a couple of years ago and spent the night w/ daytona's finest!

What type of permit do I need to have someone put captive bred brbs on their table?

I would read the vendor rules on the shows website www.reptilebreedersexpo.com/rules.html. There is a description of what you must comply with. Also, here is a site with the permits for FL Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. myfwc.com/permits/index.html

I have never set up there, so by no means should the above be considered all inclusive. You will need to talk to the promoter or an experienced vendor to make sure all of your bases are covered.

If you are considering selling animals, you will need to move quickly on this as I imagine some of the paperwork will take a bit to get filled.

Unfortunately I can't go this year. But I definetely plan to next year! I know it will be dangerous for me to go there... I'm sure I'll see many many snakes that I just have to have!

I went to SEWERFEST yesterday, and that was pretty fun. I got to meet our own TimS and see all his lovely snakies.

I was a little dissappointed, as there were no Rainbow Boas or Thayeri babies there. I saw a couple adult Thayeri, but they weren't so pretty. I'm guessing that many have not hatched yet. Oh man were there a ton of Ball Pythons and Leopard Geckos! Perhaps NARBC in Chicago will have a better selection of what I am looking for.

How are your animals doing from the move first off? How is that zoo treating you too, anything exotic over there or what? what about y'alls snakes too? You lucky bastard being that you are going to Daytona but congrats on going and I wish it was in the cards for me but not this year unfortunately.

...I have a table at Daytona. I have snakes belonging to a few of my friends on my table every year. They all get covered under my Florida permit. When I fill out my application for the permit each year I have to include an inventory of what animals I have and I make an educated guess at what animals my friends will have and it always works out. If your friend does not come through I can always have a few more BRBs on my table. I will gladly help out any forum members who need any help at the show.
