Orange leucistic eastern

scott_felzer Jul 30, 2007 08:17 PM

Not sure what is going on w/ this morph. Only thing I can think of is it's from the flame bloodlines and maybe the orange was leaching in from the flame influence. The orange color is washed out quite a bit, the first pic is the closest representation of its true color.

Thanks everybody. This is definately one of the weirder morphs I've ever produced. Will be interesting to see if the orange is genetic. I have this one, a white one and one w/ color in between the 2 (mildly orange).

Cool!!!! Guess I need to run out there and check him out!!! LOL!!!!

scott_felzer Aug 03, 2007 04:06 PM

Hey Mike,

He was produced from a 100% het leucistic flame (leucistic x flame) bred to a 100% het leucistic flame (leucistic x flame). It was white at birth but has changed its color as it has matured.

So to me, this looks like the result of breeding two double hets together and this snake the "Orange Leucistic" is a new morph, a double homo showing both leucisim and flame at the same time.

Flame is not a het trait. But,I bet if you breed two orange lucys together the color will intesify.

scott_felzer Aug 06, 2007 11:59 PM

Mike,

The orange lucy was produced from a het to het cross. Both hets are flames that are 100% het leucistic. As Tom said, the flame is a trait that you can't produce or make het flames. The flame is a co-dominant trait.

Lee,

Not really sure just yet. The Sunkist term is the leader at this point. I do like your flamecistic name, the leucifer name would cause too much hate mail lol. How are the babies doing? Your hets are doing good.

the iowa snow and anery RS take pinky parts every meal and the anery plains gtake pinks about every other.the axanthic has missed a few meals.the hets took about two weeks to eat worms ,but have made up for it and are real pigs now.i love them very much and could not be more pleased!!!next you i hope you get some mel. easterns, and alot of other things where all going to want.
sunkist has hypo in it (in other snakes)right???never mind thats sunglows.
