First we need to know how you have it set up. For babies always start with live first. Then eventually switch to f/t.
as far as feeding i have a box that i put him in with the hopper i let them set for a little but not too long because i dont want the hopper to hurt him. should i leave them for longer?
For a ball there really is no need to move them out of where they live, that could be the problem. What are you housing it in? temps?
Hides? Any other snakes with it? I would leave it in its enclosure do not mess with it all for at least a week , then offer a fuzzy.
How old is the snake?>
Are you trying mice, or rats?

First off you do not need to remove him from his cage. Secondly what kind of cage do you have him in? They do not like large enclosures. A 14 quart tub will be fine if he is a hatchling. He will want a hide or 2. Not the stupid log things. Buy a cubby hole. They are all black plastic and have only one little opening. These are great. Lastly do not handle him for a week and after the week throw a fuzzy rat in. Fuzzy rats do not run around because they have not opened their eyes yet. So you have nothing to worry about, it will not harm your ball. Email me if you have any other questions because I went through the same thing and now she is eating like a champ. Good luck
